from "Field Recording"

missing cupboard door

and missing eye

possession, where

are you sleeping

resisting, how can

it be proven

that there is light

when bisected

and there is pain

and they are together

(Fern St., June 21 2009, San Diego)

from "Field Recording"

in this rendering

there is the body

of water and nothing else

it should be familiar

but exist divorced

from traditional concepts

of shape

it is familiar

and hands move

unknowingly to trace it

this proximity

is complicated and simple

at the same time

‘proximity’ is limited

it is its relationship

w/ other concepts

that give it life—

i am thinking the word ‘real’

is enough

(Window, September 13 2009, San Francisco)

from "Field Recording"

It’s been a rough year yes, but they should know using Holland to refer to the country is a mistake. Who they are is small and not as important as the titles they choose. They say: “the world is small and not as important as the way we talk about it.” A “they” exists because of all the things that have been done without me realizing. And by the time I realize it, it is only their ghosts that are left behind.
